EVS designs computer vision software and FPGA IPs on embedded architectures. We are a high-tech company strongly oriented towards research and innovative solutions primarily for the automotive industry, but also other industrial targets such as aerospace, medical and machine vision. We are looking for talents with experience in computer vision and machine/deep learning to join our team to work on highly innovative projects in the fields of automotive and aerospace. We are looking for passionate people who loves challenges and wants to grow.
You will work in team with highly qualified personnel to study, design, develop and validate image and video analysis methods based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, especially deep learning. Starting from the analysis of the start-of-the-art architectures, you will be asked to study and design deep learning models tailored to tackle actual applicative projects, and to validate them by coping with large training/test datasets. The goal is to find out innovative deep learning approaches in order to maximize performance while optimizing and containing the computational cost (memory and processor usage) and the use of computing resources. This target will be achieved by aside-by-side work with FPGA/hardware specialists, who will support the development of such models.
Required qualifications:
A technical background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related fields is required.
The following are also considered essential:
- Experience and skills in Computer Vision and Machine/Deep Learning
- Experience in the custom design and training of deep neural network architectures, particularly Transformer-based architectures
- Experience in object detection, both 2D and 3D, and semantic segmentation, or in human mesh recovery and depth estimation
- Knowledge of the state of the art in deep learning models, such as ConvNet architectures, YOLO, Transformers, etc.
- Significant experience in software development using Python, including SciPy, NumPy, OpenCV, Pillow, etc.
- Significant experience in developing machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow/Keras and PyTorch
- Excellent written and spoken English skills, in order to interact effectively with suppliers, customers, and other project stakeholders
- Three to four years of experience in research contexts is appreciated but not mandatory, whether gained during a PhD, postdoc, or similar roles, or in research centers or corporate environments.
- Preference will also be given to candidates who have already conducted research in highly applied contexts, such as research centers, or who have collaborated with companies.
Finally, the ideal profile is completed by strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Good communication skills are also required in order to interact with the various professionals involved in the project. Last but not least, we are looking for people who have, on the one hand, a strong passion for Computer Vision and Machine/Deep Learning topics and, on the other, the desire to apply this knowledge to highly practical fields, such as the automotive sector.
